DOL/VETS has approximately $200,000 available to support Stand Down events.

The maximum award is currently $5,000 per year per event. Effective July 1, 2005, the maximum award amount will increase to $8,000 per year per event. Approved awardees will request reimbursement of expenses after the Stand Down event has taken place.

Applications for Stand Down funds will be accepted from State and local Workforce Investment Boards, local public agencies, for profit/commercial entities and nonprofit organizations, including faith-bases and community organizations.

To apply for the awards, contact the DVET in your state. The deadline is August 1.
