Office of Federal Contract Compliance
The Office of Federal Contract Compliance (OFCCP) is responsible for prohibiting
discrimination against, and requires affirmative action in all personnel
practices for, special disabled veterans, Vietnam Era veterans, and
veterans who served on active duty during a war or in a campaign or expedition
for which a campaign badge has been authorized. It applies to all firms that
have a nonexempt Government contract or subcontract of $25,000 or more.

Small Business Administration Office of Veteran Affairs
Disabled veterans of any era and Vietnam-era veterans who cannot secure business financing on reasonable terms from private sector or guaranty loan sources can turn to the US Small Business Administration (SBA) for direct loans. Veterans can use the loans to set up a small business or to operate or expand an existing small business. The ceiling on these loans is $150,000. SBA also assists individuals interested in starting up a business through Small Business Development Center
(SBDC) network and the Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE) program.

This Business Directory is your interactive directory of Veteran-owned
businesses. As a Veteran or Service Disabled Veteran business owner, when
you join The Business Directory potential customers and contractors
will be able to search the directory and find your business. SAIC,
a prime contractor, has already committed to using The Business Directory as a
tool to find contractors, and others are on the way. In addition, the
directory is a way for Veteran business owners to locate and support fellow
Veteran owned businesses. Best of all, The Business Directory is FREE
to join.
Troops to Teachers Program
Troops to Teachers provides Referral Assistance and Placement services to service members and civilian employees of Department of Defense who are interested in beginning a second career in public education as teacher or teacher's aides. The DANTES Troops to Teachers office will help in "linking" applicants with teacher certification programs and employment opportunities.
